The Channapatna toy making, is a timeless craftsmanship that originated in Channapatna, popularly known as “Gombegala Ooru” meaning Town of toys located 60 km from Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka, India. The craftsmanship of Channapatna toys was introduced by the Persian artisans in the 18th century, who came to India during the reign of Tipu Sultan who played an active role in promoting this art form thrive locally.
